TEN to be presented by Morrison Dance

As part of the Cleveland Public Theater’s Danceworks series, Morrison Dance will be presenting TEN in honor of their tenth year! (Can you believe they’ve been around since 1997?) Performances run from March 15th-March 18th. Performers include Janine Givens, Trina Hines, Carli Taylor Miluk, Founder Sarah Morrison, Megan Pitcher, Maree Remalia, Kalindi Stockton, and Kelly Postiy Yager. Scott Radke also contributes his visual artistry to Morrison Dance. Morrison Dance was the first company to present modern dance on the internet just ten years ago, see how much the company has grown in a performance of some of their favorite pieces from over the years.

V-day doesn’t just stand for Valentines Day anymore.

V-day is also a college campaign began several years ago in which benefit productions of the play “The Vagina Monologues” are put on to create awareness and raise money to prevent violence against girls and women.  The money raised is then donated to local organizations to help educate against rape, violence, and abuse of women.

Cleveland State may be a little late this year but they will be presenting:

The Vagina Monologues

Friday, March 30, 2007

Doors open at 6:00 p.m .

Cleveland State University

Fenn Tower Ballroom

Tickets are only $10.00 and can be purchased at any ticketmaster location or at: www.ticketmaster.com

The YWCA of Cleveland will be receiving the money and use it for awareness programs at CSU to prevent domestic violence and rape.

If you’ve ever been interested in seeing a performance of The Vagina Monologues this is a good chance to see it and do something charitable at the same time!

Please come spring!

I really want spring to come.  Not just that the warm air will feel so fresh.  Not just because the air will smell so good.  Not just because the ground will soften and the ugly now-brown snow will melt away.  Not just because it would be nice to hear more of the birds chirping.  Not just because the trees and flowers will start to bud.

I can’t wait for Spring so the beaches will be cleaned off and then I can go down to Huntington and Edgewater and maybe even Mentor and comb those beaches for some lovely beach glass.  Yep, that’s my major selfish desire for spring.  I want to be able to walk along the beach again without it being covered in snow, or disgusting brown muck.
