I recently went on a visit to Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens on Mothers day with my husband (and mother of course!) We actually went to tour the estate and gardens, but stumbled across the collection architect designed treehouses and art displays. They were really quite striking! There was a giant pirate ship, a treehouse in which one could make a noisy musical cacophony of sound, and even a treehouse inspired by a Piet Mondrian painting. They stretch across the grounds on a 1.5 mile loop, with several easily adapting to the natural surroundings.
It’s definitely something for the whole family to check out, as these are no ordinary tree houses. The kids that were there that day we visited were having a blast(as well as many of the adults). In addition, what is really fantastic more than half of the treehouses are ADA compliant and accessible to those with more special needs, meaning that they can be explored by all!
The event runs from May 12-October 31. Check out Stan Hywet Hall’s web-site for more information.
